E2100, 2100, Xeno Pro, K1, and M1 (Legacy Devices)

The E2100, 2100, and Xeno Pro are legacy devices, and no longer receive updated device drivers. Please contact the manufacturer of your Killer 2100, Killer E2100, or Xeno Pro for the latest drivers. The same driver (either 32bit or 64bit) works for each product. It has been confirmed that the latest drivers for Killer 2100, Killer E2100, or Xeno Pro can be downloaded on VisionTek’s support page at: https://www.visiontek.com/support/download-drivers.html. If you are using Windows 10, and Windows does not automatically install drivers for the device, the Windows 8.1 drivers should work for your application.

There is no Windows 10 driver for the E2100, 2100 and Xeno Pro, and there will be no further driver development.

Support is no longer available for the Killer M1 and Killer K1.

Bluescreen Errors

Users may encounter bluescreen errors referencing "RfeCoSvc", "bwcW10x64", or "QCAmain10x64". These errors have been addressed with more recent versions of the Killer Control Center and the drivers included. You can download the latest Killer Control Center from here - http://killernetworking.com/driver-downloads/item/killer-control-center-x64.

The Killer Control Center has replaced the Killer Network Manager, and the Killer Network Manager is no longer being developed. The Killer Control Center is fully compatible with the E2200, E2400, and the E2500, as well as all of our Wireless-N and Wireless-AC network adapters. 

For a smooth install, it is recommended that you:

  1. Download the latest installer, saving it in a place that you will remember.
  2. Right-click Start
  3. Click Apps and Features
  4. Uninstall all entries with the title of "Killer Suite," "Killer Drivers," or any variation of those titles. 
  5. Restart your machine by clicking Start > Power > Restart. Avoid using the power button on the computer, as it is likely mapped to sleep the machine instead of shutting it down.
  6. Once the computer has booted back up, run the installer that you downloaded for the latest Killer Control Center.

Issues When Installing Windows 7 Drivers

Users may encounter errors when installing drivers in Windows 7. This can be resolved by installing an update to Windows 7 that enables SHA-2 code signing in Windows 7, allowing the older operating system to use the newer device drivers. If allowed to fully update, Windows Update should install this update for you automatically. However, if you are unable to connect to the Internet, you may need to use a USB thumb drive, or some other media, to install this update on the machine on which you wish to install Windows 7. Installing Bluetooth Drivers From Device Manager

 

In some cases, when there is no driver for your Bluetooth device, the Device Manager may mis-identify the Bluetooth device, or it may not identify it at all. In this case, you will need to install the Bluetooth driver from the Device Manager by following these steps:

  1. Run the installer but don't bother rebooting
  2. Verify that it created a folder called "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bluetooth Suite"
  3. In Device Manager, double-click the Bluetooth device, however it is currently named
  4. Under the Driver tab, click Update Driver
  5. Click Browse My Computer For Driver Software
  6. Click Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer
  7. Click Have Disk
  8. Browse to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Bluetooth Suite\driver"
  9. There should be only one option - atheros_bth.inf - click it and click Open
  10. Click Okay
  11. Select Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1 and click Next
  12. Click Yes on the warning popup
  13. Reboot after it finishes the install
  14. After the reboot, check Device Manager to verify that your Bluetooth device is now named Qualcomm Atheros QCA61x4 Bluetooth 4.1 and you should be good to go!

Network Column in Windows Task Manager Not Working

 

For our software to display bandwidth correctly, Windows NDU (Windows Network Data Usage Monitoring Driver) ends up getting stopped/disabled. This is because both services work by examining packets, and both doing so at the same time can cause conflicts.

If you force NDU to run while Killer Control Center or Killer Network Manager is installed, those two programs may not display bandwidth correctly.

If you would like to re-activate the Windows NDU to test for yourself, open a Command Prompt and enter the following:

sc config ndu start=auto

After you enter that command, reboot your Computer.

NDU should now be set to start automatically and the Task Manager Processes tab should show traffic in the Network column, but the Killer Control Center or Killer Network Manager might not work properly.

To disable it, enter the following into a Command Prompt:

sc config ndu start=disabled

After you enter that command, reboot your Computer.

Killer xTend is only available on specifically made mainboards that have three or more Killer network adapters integrated. The feature requires Windows 10 64-bit.
